Prior to specializing in green roofs, Christine Thuring worked in field botany and restoration ecology.  After a green roof internship in Germany, she earned a MSc. Horticulture from the “Centre for Green Roof Research” at The Pennsylvania State University.

In 2005 she helped organize the World Green Roof Congress in Basel with Dr. Stephan Brenneisen.  This included leading a 2-day excursion of green roof around northern Switzerland. Christine was very impressed by the positive learning impact of the  on participants, and vowed to offer such a service.  Three years later, the time as come!

Having grown up Swiss-Canadian, Christine is comfortable in both cultures and enjoys communicating across languages and disciplines. Christine looks forward to facilitating more experiential learning opportunities for green roof professionals through Green Roof Safari and Chlorophyllocity.
